Aurora Room
The visibility, intensity and velocity of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) are unpredictable and can change quickly.
To reference the feelings of hope and uncertainty of seeing the Auroras, the installation variations are meant to create opportunities for viewers to choose where and for how long they watch the separated videos. Depending on these decisions, viewers will see varied Aurora activity based on the "night" and time they chose to watch.
Footage filmed in Alaska, March 2007.
Trip and filming made possible with via support from a Barlet Travel Grant and a Graduate Student Research Grant from Tufts University.
