Banff and Jasper Nation Parks are within the present-day territories of the Treaty 6, 7, and 8, First Nations, including the Stoney Nakoda comprised of the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney Nations; Tsuut’ina First Nation and the Blackfoot Confederacy comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai; Anishinabe, Aseniwuche Winewak, Dene-zaa, Nêhiyawak, Secwépemc, Métis, the Shuswap Nations, and Ktunaxa Nations.
Kootenay and Yoho National Parks are in the traditional and unceded territories of the Ktunaxa and Secwépemc First Nations.
