The Cultural Center at Rocky Neck Art Colony |  Gloucester, MA

Thinking about the exhibition site, Rocky Neck in Gloucester, MA, where water is everyone's neighbor, I wanted to create a visual metaphor acknowledging the danger facing coastal communities in relation to sea level rise, king tides, and storm surge flooding.

As if viewing through an ocean carved space, we see the ocean moving in on us, crashing against the edges of the architecture - almost lapping at our feet. If we know the ocean is coming, what preventive measures can we take?

Footage for this installation was filmed at Halibut Point State Park, Rockport, MA specifically with the architecture of this site in mind.
