DISSOLUTION

• the action or process of dissolving or being dissolved: minerals susceptible to dissolution.

• the closing down or dismissal of an assembly, partnership, or official body: the dissolution of the legislature.

• disintegration; decomposition: the dissolution of the flesh.

This installation was designed to be a contemplative space to consider how elements, and our lives, change and transform: when things feel like they are deteriorating into unknowable and uncomfortable forms, how can this dissolution also feed growth, change, and new life?

The dripping water and viscous imagery reference liquids that transform matter between states, dissolving or building mass over time. The sound of the water dripping from the sculptures mixes with pre-recorded drips that emanate from floor and ceiling speakers, auditorily expanding the scale of the environment.
